This course is recommended for Parks Enforcement Officers, Environment Officers, Hydrometric Scientists and Conservation Authority Staff.
This online program introduces subjects that include hydrology, site assessment and hazard recognition, Personal Protective Equipment, and industry-mandated safety measures that include a task safety analysis and safety plan. A certificate is issued on successful completion.
You will have 2 weeks to complete the online program once it is activated and you may access it multiple occasions during that period.
Designed specifically for staff that perform duties in and around water, this course is recommended for personnel required to inspect accidents and incidents impacting the environment or obtain and record environmental samples. The program is popular with marine researchers, hydrometric technicians and water quality inspectors.
During our 1-day practical course, the participant will identify legislative compliant requirements for working around water. As a participant, you will be able to identify various factors of hydrology that impact your work environment and safety; conduct and document a hazard site assessment; identify and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment; be able to self-rescue from an accidental immersion; and effectively perform a shore-based rescue of a co-worker.
