Designed specifically for staff that perform duties in and around water, this course is recommended for personnel required to inspect accidents and incidents impacting the environment or obtain and record environmental samples. The program is popular with marine researchers, hydrometric technicians and water quality inspectors.     


During our 1-day practical course, the participant will identify legislative compliant requirements for working around water. As a participant, you will be able to identify various factors of hydrology that impact your work environment and safety; conduct and document a hazard site assessment; identify and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment; be able to self-rescue from an accidental immersion; effectively perform a shore-based rescue of a co-worker.

As a participant, you will be able to identify various factors of hydrology that impact your work environment and safety; conduct and document a hazard site assessment; identify and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment; be able to self-rescue from various entrapment and immersion; effectively perform a shore-based rescue of a co-worker and utilize rigging systems to belay a co-worker, and access/egress points within a river.


  • Dates: Tuesday and Wednesday June 4 and 5, 2019
  • Time: Day-1 10 am - 5 pm; day-2 9 am - 4:30 pm.
